Aylo U.S. State Access Restrictions Update
This action follows the implementation of new regional age verification laws. These laws require adult sites to enforce stricter age checks using sensitive personal data such as government-issued IDs. Such measures are intended to better protect minors from explicit content online.
Aylo supports the goal of protecting minors but argues for privacy-conscious solutions that avoid excessive data collection. The company believes that current legislation places an unnecessary burden on both websites and users. According to Aylo, these laws could compromise user privacy and security.
With the addition of Georgia, South Dakota, and Wyoming, the total blocked states now include Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Idaho, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Mississippi, Montana, Nebraska, North Carolina, Oklahoma, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Virginia, and Wyoming.
These recent changes come after a landmark U.S. Supreme Court ruling, which upheld Texas’s age verification law by a 6-3 margin. The decision was a setback for Aylo and other adult industry groups who argued the law violated free speech and digital privacy rights.
Speaking to AVN, an Aylo representative reiterated the company’s commitment to responsible age verification. However, they emphasized that this must not come at the cost of user privacy or online security.
Currently, the only method to bypass these state blocks is by using VPNs to mask geographic location. While this workaround exists, Aylo neither recommends nor endorses this practice officially.
As discussions around age verification laws continue nationwide, more states may enact similar rules. This could lead to further expansion of state-level site restrictions in the upcoming months, affecting adult content access for many users.
