Pineapple Support Launches ADHD Performer Mental Health Program
LOS ANGELES—Pineapple Support, the leading nonprofit dedicated to mental health in the adult industry, will host a free online support group designed to help performers with ADHD improve their relationship with self-criticism. The six-week program, titled “ADHD-Friendly: 30 Days to Befriend Your Inner Critic”, begins Monday, October 6th, at 1 p.m. EST. Dr. Jena Field, a licensed Pineapple Support therapist, will facilitate the weekly sessions.
Dr. Field explains that many people see their inner critic as an enemy to silence. However, this view can increase shame and self-doubt. “This group redefines the inner critic as a misunderstood ally,” she said. Using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Internal Family Systems (IFS), the sessions will guide participants to build inner support, strengthen resilience, and respond with calm during challenges.
Founded in 2018 by British performer Leya Tanit after facing her own struggles with depression, Pineapple Support has since grown into a lifeline for adult performers worldwide. The organization, registered as a U.S. 501(c)(3) nonprofit, has connected more than 16,000 performers with free or low-cost mental health services, including therapy, peer support, and crisis resources.
“Adults with ADHD often face unique struggles around self-criticism and emotional balance,” said Tanit. “This program creates a safe and supportive space where performers can transform those challenges into opportunities for growth. I am thankful to Dr. Field for leading such vital work for our community.”
The program starts Monday, October 6th, at 1 p.m. EST (10 a.m. PST / 7 p.m. CET). Each 90-minute session will run online weekly. Registration details are available at pineapplesupport.org/support-groups.
